Artist Note
“Performalist self-portrait” is a term coined by Hannah Wilke in the 70’s. It is photographic work she created and directed others to photograph. I have used the same principle in the Big Deep series. In this scene, the photographer was supermodel, Crystal Renn and her friend, Abbey Lee (pictured below).
