Bloodthirst
2018
Installation & performance
Overview
Bloodthirst begins with two vibrant gradient archways (or humps) painted on the walls of Hathaway Gallery in the group show, Til The Lights Go Out.
Midway into the exhibition, the installation evolves into a playful music video scene, and soon a destructive dance with a bowling-turned-wrecking ball. “Ceremony” by New Order backdrops the loud and cathartic ritual of cracking open the wall.
A colorful wall-painting transitions into a performative destruction zone.
During the closing reception the audience is invited to participate in the continued disaster.
The building is demolished two weeks later, and Hathaway opens in a new space.
Til The Lights Go Out is a group show curated by Scott Ingram
